ELS LDV (Lighting Design Visualization) Process
Lighting science makes live easy for your sales job.
In retail, grabbing customers’ attention is a major task. Conducing lighting ambience enhances in-store experience. Hopefully, the customers stay in the shop long enough to pull out the wallet. Lighting science makes it easy for your sales job.
In Europe, the lighting profession has studied specific lighting effects on sales. They tested different brightness and color temperatures of light on different characteristics of customers and products. In many cases they saw up to 10% sales increase under proper lighting conditions.
Obviously, we perceive architectural space because of light. Lighting makes a certain space brilliant and cast away darkness. Lighting, in a shop or in any space, plays an important role.
Up to 10% sales increase with only proper lighting conditions.
ELS 3D LDV is the process for comprehensive lighting solutions. The work is faster and very strict forward. You’re introduced to how the lighting information we provide helps non-technical personnel “See” the situation intuitively and effectively. It enables prompt and correct decisions.
Illuminance, luminance, uniformity, glare, W/m^2: do you know the meaning of these terms? Lighting professionals use these terms to assess lighting conditions in space. The lighting conditions we need cannot be reached just by imagination or drawings. We need to find out proper fixtures, installation, lighting control and maintenance.
With these all technical issues, we should assess if the conditions would be realized in advance.
How to realize the lighting conditions / How to manage the process
Almost every electrical equipment would be installed before interior finish works. On the other hand, lighting fixtures would be located after the finish works. It means that we may have to set up the locations where the lighting fixtures should be installed before the fixtures’ arrival. And the gap between the different works are likely to have unexpected variations in architectural design due to clients’ requests or changes.
So we need to manage the design and construction process efficiently and flexibly to handle the variations so that we can get the optimal lighting condition. ELS 3D LDV is a “Visible” solution. Finally, you’re provided with very useful lighting information for your architectural space: visualization images, lighting calculation, optimized products, related BIM data like Revit families and installation drawings.
Parametric modeling - Product design & Lighting Calculation - 3D rendering
LDV process consists of three steps. First, we build visible 3D models of the architectural space using BIM software, Revit. This parametric modeling allows us to manage architectural information more effectively and strictly. All data we review are then exported to the next step of product design to develop an optimized solution.
Lighting calculation studies possibility of realization. In this step, we work in tandem with our lighting lab and optical design team for the best result. They support us with the latest knowledge, technology and over 10 years experiences.
Last but not least, 3D rendering produces realistic lighting images as well as architectural rendering images. This visualization work is very useful for both project owners and coworkers like architects or interior designers.
Customers’ requests and design variations passed to our process are quickly and simply fed back in the form of useful data. In particular, realistic images are prepared for project owners who are not familiar with lighting technology. LDV offers realistic images under the real lighting conditions. It helps all parties review the situation visually and intuitively. We can also render lighting control effects in LDV.
Lighting helps merchandise look engaging and the interior space of the shop stand out. Lighting conditions are obviously made completed by collaboration with various disciplines.
ELS 3D LDV process is created for today’s multi-facet, multi-talent and efficient collaboration.
